Craft Relief Stressbusters

Who couldn’t use a little stress busting these days?

While our Stressbusters are usually for NC State students only, this fall we are extending these short, fun, and FREE classes to all current University faculty and staff as well.  These Stressbusters are pre-recorded classes from our Summer 2020 programming. You will receive a link via email after registering for the course and will have access to this digital content through the Fall 2020 semester. Intro to ZentangleInstead of unwinding your stress, tangle it! Zentangle is a calming, patterned drawing style that is perfect for letting your mind relax! No drawing experience necessary, anyone can tangle! If you do not have access to the supplies in the video you can easily supplement with any pencil, pen, or marker and a Q-tip for shading. Only one video from this 5 week course is available.  

 

 

Intro to Music Theory

Music theory may seem like a very complicated and daunting subject to learn, but in reality it can be a lot of fun and eye-opening! In this session we’ll look at the basics of music theory and discuss the functionality behind musical concepts (with examples). This includes both a perspective on rhythm and melody. No prior music experience needed. No instruments needed.  Watch a 

 

 

Simple BookmakingThis class is open to all levels and will show how to make a book using one piece of paper and also simple relief techniques and or text. One sheet of paper is all you will need. 

 

 

 

 

Digital Painting
In this class you will learn a basic framework for approaching the world of digital art! Students will learn basic design and art principles, and then see how they can be used in a digital setting. Digital painting and ‘brush stroke’ techniques will be demonstrated. We will focus on how to use the digital software to its highest creative capacity.

Cancellations

Most of our classes fill quickly so there is often a wait list. Late notice cancellations require considerable processing and labor to try and fill the reserved seat. Therefore, cancellations under 10 days are not able to be refunded unless we can fill the space.
• If cancellation occurs 10 or more days prior to the start of a class, a 75% refund of payment will be issued; 25% of payment is assessed for processing charge.
• If cancellation occurs less than 10 days prior to the start of a class, a refund cannot be issued unless the space can be filled. If the space is able to be filled, a 50% refund of  payment will be issued.
If you find you need to cancel out of a class you have registered for, you must drop the class via Reporter», our new online registration system

Cancellation requests will not be accepted at the main desk or via phone or email.

Absences

To receive an optimal experience and get the most out of the class, attendance is important as there are no provisions for make-up sessions for missed classes.

Wait Lists

Names are accepted on waiting lists via Reporter» after a class is full until the day the class begins.  Wait lists are only valid for the current semester’s class – wait lists are not carried over to the next semester.
