BOARDS AND BRUSH

Instructor: Maria Frati

Using a variety of relief (surface) carving and painting techniques, learn to make artwork from rustic wood pieces. We’ll address tool use and maintenance, carving styles, different wood and grain, as well as acrylic paint techniques including color mixing and composition. For an extra challenge create a work of art from a repurposed piece of wood. A $28 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the start of the class.

LEATHER JOURNALS [Workshop]

Leather JournalsHemingway was never without his. Frida Kahlo’s are widely reproduced. Make your very own leather journal and learn to do leather sewing, dyeing, and stamping to personalize to your taste. Using a premium 6” x 8” x 0.5” journal with acid-free, archival paper you will create a leather cover that is reusable for many journals in the future! Your legacy…secured!  Supplies included.

WATERCOLOR PUMPKIN PATCH [Workshop]

Watercolor Pumpkin Patch

No experience necessary. Learn how to paint charming fall pumpkins in watercolor with added interest from pen and ink. Students are responsible for providing some of their own supplies and will receive a supply list two weeks prior to class.  [Expect to pay $20 – $35 for supplies at a local art supply store.]
