These classes will be offered completely on-line via Zoom*. The class Zoom link will be emailed to registrants prior to the star of class. Instructions regarding class supplies are provided in the class description.
Participants in online classes will have access to class videos until the end of the semester in which the class was taught.
Crafts Center classes and Workshops are extracurricular, non-credit classes.

INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Do you own a digital camera but don’t quite know how to use it? Then this course is for you! In this course Jeannene will teach basic concepts and discuss how ISO, aperture, and shutter speed collectively create a photograph and how to change each setting based on your desired outcome. Students are encouraged to ask questions throughout each session. You will need to have your own digital camera at hand to get the most out of this course. NC STATE IN BLACK AND WHITE
Instructor: Thomas Way
A socially distant introduction to black and white photography – capture light and motion on film with SLR cameras; using your own camera or a Crafts Center loaner. This hybrid learning opportunity begins with an in-person meeting followed by several online ZOOM sessions. Students and instructor, Thomas Way, will safely meet on campus for discussion and interactive photo-walk. Student film will need to be processed and scanned by The Foto Shoppe (located in Cary) with the following class focusing on a group critique to improve techniques before shooting a second roll of film. Darkroom procedures and negative scanning will be discussed, leaving students prepped and ready for a fun and fascinating future in film photography!

Most of our classes fill quickly so there is often a wait list. Late notice cancellations require considerable processing and labor to try and fill the reserved seat. Therefore, cancellations under 10 days are not able to be refunded unless we can fill the space.
• If cancellation occurs 10 or more days prior to the start of a class, a 75% refund of payment will be issued; 25% of payment is assessed for processing charge.
• If cancellation occurs less than 10 days prior to the start of a class, a refund cannot be issued unless the space can be filled. If the space is able to be filled, a 50% refund of payment will be issued.
If you find you need to cancel out of a class you have registered for, you must drop the class via Reporter», our new online registration system
Cancellation requests will not be accepted at the main desk or via phone or email.
To receive an optimal experience and get the most out of the class, attendance is important as there are no provisions for make-up sessions for missed classes.
Names are accepted on waiting lists via Reporter» after a class is full until the day the class begins. Wait lists are only valid for the current semester’s class – wait lists are not carried over to the next semester.
