CRAFT:LAB Professional Development Series!

Our new C:LAB is a digital maker space for making, prototyping, and extending traditional media practices into commercial production. This dynamic Professional Development series will focus on personal and professional marketing, entrepreneurship, and digital skills-building. Stay tuned as we continue to build the C:LAB by adding new equipment, services, and classes.

Instructor: Jessica Yee

This course teaches students basic techniques for creating amazing laser-cut pieces such as engraved glassware, mugs, signs and much more. Students will learn how to set up image files and load them into the system software as well as operate the Trotec laser engraver. Students will walk away with a variety of products, prototypes and artworks that could provide them with a basis for creating lines of marketable products. Students will need to bring their own thumb drive for access to files and purchase their own materials for cutting/engraving (some materials will be available for purchase at the Crafts Center) – sample projects and acceptable materials will be discussed on first evening of class.
