Leather Tote Bag [Workshop]

To the market or the boardroom, this beautiful tote will be a timeless piece for any occasion. This workshop will cover sewing and fabrication, patternmaking/design, and tooling for the construction of a 14” x 14” x 6” [approximate size] tote with lush leather handles and accent hardware. Each student will be provided with one leather shoulder and a basic pattern to guide you for the design of your custom leather tote bag. You will learn to cut out your base leather pieces, finish the raw edges, sew them together using the Center’s heavy-duty fabricator sewing machine, and add the hardware. You will also have access to leather stamps to customize your bag and will learn to treat it with either an oil protectant or a color dye. A basic knowledge of sewing is helpful but not required.
