Do classes and workshops include Studio Membership?

Classes are available in varying session lengths as an ongoing study in a specific studio. For classes that are 15 hours and over, students will have access to the studio in which they are enrolled for the duration of the semester. For classes less than 15 hours, students have the option to sign up for other classes and/or purchase a membership.

Workshops are focused sessions that are held for several consecutive days. The Center often adds specialty workshops, so check our website often for updates. Workshops do not include additional studio access; however, students will have access to the studio during the time in which the workshop is being conducted.

I’m not taking a class. Can I still use a studio?

What are the guidelines on cancellations?

Most of our classes fill quickly so there is often a wait list. Late notice cancellations require considerable processing and labor to try and fill the reserved seat. Therefore, cancellations under 10 days are not able to be refunded unless we can fill the space.

  • If cancellation occurs 10 or more days prior to the start of a class, a 75% refund of payment will be issued; 25% of payment is assessed for processing charge.
  • If cancellation occurs less than 10 days prior to the start of a class, a refund cannot be issued unless the space can be filled. If the space is able to be filled, a 50% refund of payment will be issued.
  • If you find you need to cancel out of a class you have registered for, you must our online Cancellation Form »
Cancellation requests will not be accepted at the main desk or via phone or email.
  • Acknowledgment of the cancellation will be e-mailed normally within two (2) business days.
The refund will be issued to the same credit card used for original payment; allow 10 business days for the credit to post to your account.

If you have questions regarding cancellations, please contact the Crafts Center by phone 919.515.2457 or by e-mail crafts-center@ncsu.edu.

Other class guidelines

To receive an optimal experience and get the most out of the class, attendance is important as there are no provisions for make-up sessions for missed classes.

Class schedule changes

Dates, times and instructors of classes are subject to change. In the event a change to the class schedule needs to be made, you will be notified via email and/or by phone.

Wait Lists

If a class is filled at time of registration, navigate to the Crafts Center Waiting List to add your name to be contacted.

Should a class space become available, NC State students are given priority and are contacted first.  Then the space is offered to all others on the list in the order as appearing on the list.

If a last-minute cancellation occurs, then everyone on the list is contacted at the same time; the first person to respond who will commit to attending the class will secure the space.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, NC State will honor requests for reasonable accommodations made by individuals with disabilities. Requests can be served more effectively if notice is provided at least 10 days before the event. Direct accommodation requests via e-mail to Crafts Center Director Carol Fountain Nix.
