What are the fee levels?

Is there an age requirement to take a class?

Yes. You must be 18 or over or a registered NC State student with current health insurance to participate in classes and studio areas.

Do classes and workshops include Studio Membership?

Classes

Classes are available in varying session lengths as an ongoing study in a specific studio. Students will only have access to the studio for the duration of the class to practice during the timeframe in which the class is being conducted. Certain classes (not Workshops) provide participants options to utilize a PunchCard and/or purchase a ClassPass:

OPTION 1: PunchCard can be utilized for three additional studio visits after the class has ended to complete [only] projects started in class. The card will be made available on the last day of class.

OPTION 2: ClassPass is offered for designated classes and extends studio access beyond the actual time frame of the class. Students enrolled in second session continuing classes [meaning halfway or more through the semester] will be able to purchase a ClassPass to utilize prior to the start of class – pending enrollment verification.

Workshops

Workshops are focused sessions that are held for several consecutive days. The Center often adds specialty workshops, so check our website often for updates. Workshops do not include additional studio access; however, students have the option to sign up for other classes and/or purchase a semester membership; students will have access to the studio to practice during the timeframe in which the workshop is being conducted.

I’m not taking a class. Can I still use a studio?

Yes, Studio Memberships are available for purchase by those not taking a class, provided they have sufficient experience and knowledge to work independently in the studio. Visit our Membership page for details about Membership, fees, and how to purchase a Membership.

At this time, supplies related to current classes and studio will continue to be sold over the counter at the Center’s Info Desk; forms of payment accepted are cash, check, and money order.  Checks should be payable to NC State University.  Checks returned by a bank for any reason will incur a $25 returned check fee.

What are the guidelines on cancellations?

Most of our classes fill quickly so there is often a wait list. Late notice cancellations require considerable processing and labor to try and fill the reserved seat. Therefore, cancellations under 10 days are not able to be refunded unless we can fill the space.

  • If cancellation occurs 10 or more days prior to the start of a class, a processing charge of 25% of the registration payment or $25 (whichever is less) will be assessed and the remainder refunded.
  • If cancellation occurs less than 10 days prior to the start of a class, a refund cannot be issued unless the space can be filled. If the space is able to be filled, a 50% refund of payment will be issued.
  • If you find you need to cancel out of a class you have registered for, you must our online Cancellation Form if you are cancelling from a Spring 2018 class.  If you are cancelling from a Summer 2018 class, you must  do so via Reporter».
Cancellation requests will not be accepted at the main desk or via phone or email.
  • The refund will be issued to the same credit card used for original payment; allow 10 business days for the credit to post to your account.

If you have questions regarding cancellations, please contact the Crafts Center by phone 919.515.2457 or by e-mail crafts-center@ncsu.edu.
