Hand Coloring Darkroom Prints [Workshop]
Learn the basics of applying color to black-and-white fiber prints made in the darkroom. In exploring the properties of several different coloring media (e.g., oil-based stains, pastels, colored pencils), and by experimenting with various application techniques, you will gain a greater understanding of the limitations and creative opportunities afforded by the surface of any silver gelatin print. Aside from adding color to black and white prints, these same tools and skills are useful in simply retouching black and white prints to correct dust spots or other imperfections.
