Summer Planters [Workshop]

Get your hands in the clay and create beautiful, functional planters just in time for the summer growing season! In this wheel-throwing workshop, students will learn how to throw planters and matching drip trays as well as integrated drip trays, refine and alter forms for unique shapes, and explore a variety of surface decoration techniques to make each piece truly your own. We’ll cover essential considerations for healthy plants – like drainage, wall thickness, and functional design – while also encouraging creative expression through carving, texturing, and slip or underglaze decoration. Great for gifts, patio upgrades, or adding handmade charm to your indoor jungle! Students should have wheel experience and be able to center 2 lbs of clay.

Class fee includes 25 lb of clay, use of slips, underglazes, and glaze firing of workshop pieces.
