Bio

Sonya Coulson Rook is a North Carolina native who fell in love with metalsmithing while
studying art at East Carolina University where she graduated with a BFA in metal design in
2001. She is the artist behind Metamorphosis Metals, a line of unique artisan jewelry that
combines both industrial and organic aesthetics. She has 10 years of teaching experience,
having taught a variety of techniques and workshops at Sertoma Arts Center in Raleigh,
Emerge Gallery in Greenville, and in her personal studio.
