Fused Glass Project Workshop: Drop Out Forming
The drop out form is another method of shaping flat glass into a different form. It’s a fascinating process where the heat of the kiln will be stretching the glass as it forms. In this class you will design a blank in glass to then drop “through” (as opposed to “into”) a mold that you will make.
First you will create a flat glass blank. Then you’ll create and cut your own drop mold to be used to form your glass blanks. We will discuss using the C-Lab Waser cutter as necessary.
Guided by the instructors, you’ll discuss design options and how the designs will change in the forming of the glass..
