For NC State students only. Don’t have time to commit to a full-length crafts class? Come join us for an afternoon of fun and learning! Register for one or more sessions.
Class fee: $15 per session, all supplies included
Session A – Pendulum Pour Paintings
Spend an afternoon swinging paint from the ceiling and letting loose on canvas and poster board! Bring your own additional items to paint on [canvas, tee shirt, mug, wood, etc.] and come to class prepared to get really messy!

Session B – Turned Wood Pen
Come learn how to use a wood lathe and turn your very own custom wooden twist pen! Start with a block of beautiful hardwood and learn how to shape, sand, finish and assemble a one-of-a-kind handmade twist pen!

Session C – Pottery Wheel
Try your hands at the potter’s wheel while making a clay bowl or cup during this fun crafternoon activity! Pick your favorite piece to be glazed and finished in the Crafts Center’s gas kiln!

Come learn how to use a wood lathe and turn your very own custom wooden bottle stopper.

Session F – Beaded Barrettes
Spend an afternoon using your creative side to blend different shades and styles to make beaded barrettes. These go great alone or in pairs, and with a variety of wardrobes.
Saturday afternoon, September 30 1:30 – 4:30 pm
Session G – Enameled Copper Pendant and Earrings
Come ‘play’ with fire while learning to apply powdered glass to metal. In this short session, get a quick, hands-on lesson in basic hot enameling.

Session H – Watercolor, Fall Leaves
Learn fun watercolor techniques while painting colorful fall leaves.
Friday afternoon, October 13, 4:00 – 7:00pm
Session I – Turned Ice Cream Scoop
Come learn how to use a wood lathe and turn your very own custom wooden ice cream scoop for all the Howling Cow you’ll be enjoying!
Friday afternoon, October 20, 4:00 – 7:00pm
Session J – Stained Glass
Foil and solder using the copper foil method of stained glass to create a simple suncatcher or ornament.
Friday afternoon, October 27, 4:00 – 7:00pm
Session K – Turned Bottle Opener
Come learn how to use a wood lathe and turn your very own custom wooden bottle opener. It’s good for gifts and a great addition to your kitchen ware.

Learn to use the lampworking torches to make colorful glass beads.
