Dutch Pour Painting [Workshop]

The Dutch Pour is an acrylic pouring technique. This is where the artist pours “fluid” acrylic paints on a canvas to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece of abstract artwork. The Dutch Pour is a pouring technique created by Rinske Douna in 2016. This technique involves mixing acyrlic paint with a medium (usually Floetrol) and some water to create a more viscous, fluid paint. The paint is then poured on the canvas and blown out with a hair dryer. This technique is by far one of the most popular ways to create pour art. The Dutch Pour results in awesome effects, creating petal-like blowouts of spectacular arrays of colors across a negative space.

In this class you will learn step-by-step how to create a Dutch Pour. You will create Dutch Pours with a black and a white negative space on two separate canvases that you make take home (after drying). No experience is necessary – this can be easily learned by people of all ages and backgrounds – including yourself! You don’t have to have an art background to enjoy this creative painting experience.
