Figurative Sculpture [Workshop]

This workshop is designed to introduce students to working within the format of the human figure. During the two consecutive 2-day weekend sessions you will learn techniques for building, shaping, voiding, and finishing a small scale human figure. An emphasis will be placed on understanding anatomical proportions and creating emotion through the figure’s pose, gesture, and movement. Demonstrations will guide students through the process of constructing, shaping, and refining their figurative sculptures. All pieces will be bisque fired after the workshop. The class fee includes a 25lb. bag of clay.

NOTE: All sculptures will be bisque-fired but glaze firing is only available for current clay studio members or students enrolled in a 6-week class.
