Bio

My work is inspired by the Asian ceramics culture of my native region and the NC pottery tradition of my adopted home. I try to achieve a balance between artistry and functionality. My goal is to bring one-of-a-kind artisan pottery into people’s daily life. Most of my work is wheel thrown with optional alteration. I use various decoration techniques such as carving, slip and brushwork. My functional work uses food safe glazes and is intended for everyday use.
