Tin Can Collage [Workshop]

Learn how to deconstruct tin cans, cut the metal material, and nail the pieces to a board to create an image of your choosing! Students will complete an 8×10” collage during the 4-hour workshop. Topics covered will include safety procedures, proper tool handling, and an overall introduction to tin work, allowing students to explore the techniques associated with tin cutting and shaping, layout design, and pattern establishment. Course correction will also be addressed, allowing students to make changes to their collage! All supplies are included and tools will be provided, however students are encouraged to bring tin cans of their own or their favorite hammer to add an extra personalization to their creation. A materials fee of $20 must be paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop. This workshop is suited for all skill levels.
