Altered Lidded Pots Workshop

This 2-day workshop will guide you through the process of creating well-fitted lids for out-of-round shaped vessels. Students will learn how to shape lids for square, rectangular, and even oval forms. Day #1 will include step by step instructions for making your own pouncer, sand filled pouch for forming, which will be yours to keep. Demonstrations will cover options for the gallery and flange components of the form. Students will also learn to use clay shredders for refining their forms and getting the perfect fit for their lids. This hands-on workshop will introduce you to the possibilities of altered lidded forms! Class fee includes one 25-pound bag of clay, materials for making the pouncer, and a personal shredder. All pieces will be bisque fired after the workshop. Glaze firing is not included except for current clay studio members or students enrolled in a 6-week class.
