Bio

I was a Social Worker and Social Work instructor from 1980 until 2013, when I retired having worked at NCSU, Meredith College, East Carolina University and Ryerson and York Universities in Canada. Jewelry making is my retirement hobby. I have been beading for over 35 years. I began metal smithing in 2014 with courses from Mary Ann Scherr, Sarah Tector, Leigh Griffin and Ndidi Kowalczyk and others. I primarily use sterling silver, some copper and some 14-18k gold as well as precious metal clay. I like to incorporate precious and semi precious gemstones, and fused and Venetian glass into my jewelry. I opened my Etsy Shop, BeaucoupBijou, in 2012. I teach weekend workshops in Precious Metal Clay for Beginners at the NCSU Crafts Center.
