Stained Glass “Embellished” Boxes


Let your personality shine in the making of this functional glass creation! Explore 3D construction, hinge construction and soldering techniques as you construct a lidded box that is rich in color and design. Embellish your box by sandblasting onto it using decorative vinyl accents. The class fee covers use of studio tools and supplies such as flux, patina, polishing compound, and hinges for the box lid. You must purchase your own glass, 60/40 or lead-free solder, and foil (available for purchase at the Crafts Center. To take this workshop you must be proficient in working with flat glass and solder. This is not a beginner level class. To take this class you must be proficient in working with flat glass and solder – see prerequisites below.

  • Prerequisites: Students must have completed the Introduction to Stained Glass class at the Crafts Center before taking this class.
