Wheel 2: Expanding Throwing Skills

Wheel II is the next level of pottery wheel instruction. You will build on your skills through practicing throwing consistent forms and exploring surfaces. Projects will include plate forms, basic lidded pots, and techniques for shaping a variety of vase + bottle forms. You will expand your surface design skills through learning about slip decoration and build on your glaze application knowledge. During this class you will accumulate confidence in your throwing skills and grow your understanding of the ceramic process.
NOTE: Practice time outside of class is strongly suggested to finish class projects. Class fee includes one 25 lb. bag of clay. Locker rental is available for $10.00 and can be purchased on the first day of class.
