Classes and Workshops
You must be 18 or older, or a currently enrolled NC State student, and have health insurance to take classes at the Crafts Center.
Crafts Center classes and Workshops are extracurricular, non-credit classes.
Classes are available in varying session lengths as an ongoing study in a specific studio. Students will only have access to the studio for the duration of the class to practice during the timeframe in which the class is being conducted. Specified classes provide participants options to utilize a PunchCard and/or purchase a ClassPass. Not all classes include the PunchCard and ClassPass option.
OPTION 1: PunchCard is offered for designated classes and allows three additional studio visits after the class has ended to complete [only] projects started in class. The card will be made available on the last day of class.
OPTION 2: ClassPass is offered for designated classes and extends studio access beyond the actual time frame of the class. Students enrolled in second session continuing classes [meaning halfway or more through the semester] will be able to purchase a ClassPass to utilize prior to the start of class pending enrollment verification.
Workshops are focused sessions that are held for several consecutive days. Workshops do not include a PunchCard or ClassPass option; however, students will have access to the studio during the time in which the workshop is being conducted.
Each class is designed specifically for a designated level of experience.Â
PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AN INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED COURSE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE REQUIREDÂ PREREQUISITE EXPERIENCE.
These classes will be offered completely on-line via Zoom*. The class Zoom link will be emailed to registrants prior to the star of class. Instructions regarding class supplies are provided in the class description.
* If you are not familiar with ZOOM, check out this Zoom Tutorial ahead of time so you’ll be familiar with how to participate in a Zoom session.
Fees are based upon your affiliation to the university. Learn more about fees for classes and workshops.
Register for classes
See Crafts Center registration guidelines and instructions.
Most of our classes fill quickly so there is often a wait list. Late notice cancellations require considerable processing and labor to try and fill the reserved seat. Therefore, cancellations under 10 days are not able to be refunded unless we can fill the space. If cancellation occurs 10 or more days prior to the start of a class, a processing charge of 25% of the registration payment or $25 (whichever is less) will be assessed and the remainder refunded. If cancellation occurs less than 10 days prior to the start of a class, a refund cannot be issued unless the space can be filled. If the space is able to be filled, a 50% refund of payment will be issued.
- If you find you need to cancel out of a class you have registered for, you must do so by via the Course Drop option in Reporter.
Cancellation requests will not be accepted at the main desk or via phone or email.
To receive an optimal experience and get the most out of the class, attendance is important as there are no provisions for make-up sessions for missed classes.
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, NC State will honor requests for reasonable accommodations made by individuals with disabilities. Requests can be served more effectively if notice is provided at least 10 days before the event. Direct accommodation requests to Crafts Center Director Carol Fountain Nix.
