Composing the Surface: An Image Transfer Workshop

Underglaze and slip transfers are a great way to add color, pattern, and variety to the surface of your pieces. This hands-on workshop will introduce students to the process of creating their own slip transfers and working with commercially produced underglaze transfers. Demonstrations will include surface preparation, slip transfer development, transfer application, and surface embellishment options. A variety of underglaze transfers will be available for students to experiment with on their pieces. Participants should plan to bring 3-5 pieces of bisque ware and 3-5 pieces at the leather-hard stage.

Class fee includes three decal sheets, additional sheets may be purchased. All pieces from the workshop will be bisque fired. Glaze firing is available for current studio members or students enrolled in a 6-week class during the summer semester.
