Extruded Forms

Interested in learning how to work with a clay extruder? It’s a great tool to get to know and our clay studio has two! Students will explore the possibilities with our existing die shapes and have the opportunity to design and fabricate their own custom dies with the help of the C:LAB.

In this class we will utilize our Brent and North Star extruders to manipulate clay into coils, straps, or hollow tubes. Demonstrations will cover machine setup and usage, as well as basic skills on how to use those extrusions. Students can explore scale with the use of the extruder extension tool that allows for larger sized dies. Projects are designed to reinforce the extruder techniques and processes while also encouraging students to experiment and express themselves. Class fee includes one 25 lb. bags of clay and use of studio tools needed during class. Previous clay experience is required for this intermediate level class.
