Ocarina Workshop

Ocarinas, a type of vessel flute, have been made by cultures across the globe for thousands of years. This workshop is open to ALL experience levels. You will learn how to make clay ocarinas that produce a clear tone. Learn the basics of resonating cavities and windways, plus strategies for overcoming common pitfalls. You’ll add holes to produce multiple pitches, and experiment with possible tunings and fingerings. From there, design decisions are limited only by your imagination. Slips and underglazes will be available for use to accentuate textures and add color.

Pieces will be fired after the workshop and you will be notified when they are ready to pick-up. Clay, slips, underglazes, and tools will be provided.
